Right, no insurance. The price gap used to be bigger. Perhaps because there were many medical dispensaries, but after the law was passed only a few got permit to sell without a prescription. So less competition, higher prices. Not sure how many are still medical only. Will ask a guy who is in this business (or page/read the adds).
The prescription itself used to be appx $50. Officially for the medical "exam". ie you had to complain/suffer from one of the approved for reasons (I think almost anything, except perhaps for cough or hearing voices.. :-)
