Re: Case Report-33-2016 Notable things about this case—
It occurred in Austria, a country that has as much exposure to and information about CytoSorb as any country in the world. The 63-year-old patient had been in cardiac intensive care for 17 days due to staph aureus sepsis. And had NOT been treated with CytoSorb during those 17 days. Why? Were cytokines not that high although the patient was in organ failure? On dialysis. On epinephrine trying to boost blood pressure. On a ventilator. I nquiring minds. . . . During the 2nd valve replacement, this diabetic in renal failure with peripheral circulatory failure who had been on ventilator was treated with CytoSorb. Three weeks after the second valve surgery, the patient died. Why didn’t they go to the cemetery, dig somebody up, and treat them with CytoSorb? |
