It was a pretty wild year for me as far as the best and worst stocks went... There were some very unexpected gains (SRPT, THLD) and some sad losers (AONE went bankrupt). I think I made marginal money, but not much. Overall, I kept the dividend paying stocks and was glad for it. Buying primarily "safe" energy stocks now, like more of HES at its bottom and now contemplating OXY... the latter lifted from it's December bottom in low 70's to over 80 now.

HTA might be a good reit to have. Hard to tell how the medical industry will fare under Obamacare. It is quite likely that more and more docs will go to private pay-for-service (cash) practice and then HTA would seem to be likely to benefit from that. 5+% dividend looks good.
