My intuitive guess is that the first interactive projection smart speaker that we'll see will be from Microsoft since, 1) they seem to be tuned in to sensing and computing at the edge as with Kinect for Azure, and both PM and Sumit Sharma emphasized this concept of edge sensing and AI at the Northland presentation 2) we've connected enough dots here to feel very confident that our tech is going to be in the next Hololens, so it's no leap to think that Microsoft is very familiar with our tech verticals, 3) the deal between Microsoft and Amazon for Alexa interactivity gives Cortana many new skills useful in the home setting, 4) Microsoft doesn't have its own branded smart speaker yet and will have to play catch up to Amazon, Google and even Apple. By introducing interactive projection in a Microsoft smart speaker Microsoft could leap frog ahead of the pack, 5) Microsoft and Samsung were the only Tier-1s not mentioned in the Northland presentation, so conspicuously absent, but as PM said, there are only a handful in this market segment and "we're talking to all of them".
