Yeah, the BOD allows the same mistakes to happen, maybe with slightly different flavors, but basically the sam mistakes.  Dereliction off duty ?

 

The "ethical" nonsense is at least a slightly related peripheral factor for a product (in addition to the attempt to associate ethical with the C&C brand/s). BUT, in our case, it is NOT a factor that will actually affect many consumers' choice of fine jewel, so it is a waste of resources on a tiny subset-of-a-subset of the audience, and will also be counterproductive (to an extent larger than any positive effect on the tiny subset) due to being a distraction from the main attributes (BFL+D+W) that make C&CM worthy of being chosen. (That distraction makes people question why C&C has to push "ethical"......is it because consumers are supposed to buy C&CM despite it being a lesser jewel, just because it is supposedly more ethical ? That is the impression C&C is creating.) 

 

The political stuff is another level of bad. It is NOT in any way related to the product. And by nature, it will be divisive, which will fracture the audience. Bottom line, most people don't want to think about politics when thinking about jewels/luxury goods (or whatever). So the audience is immediately shrunk. And then of that subset, you only get the half on your side of the argument (and there is a side, it is nonsense that SSR is not driven by a side). That association will damage the C&C brand, not help it.
